With an area of over 650 m2, the largest indoor miniature world in the Benelux, featuring many Dutch themes, such as the coast, polder landscapes, 'World City Rotterdam' including the largest indoor miniature port in Europe, not to mention Great Britain in miniature.
Every 24 minutes night falls in our miniature world in a sequence of beautiful evening- and morningcolours by dimming the lights in the exhibitionhall. Thousands of miniature bulbs light up the nightly landscape in and around thousands of modelbuildings.
Cosy and still vast rural and polderlandscapes are combined with the modern and historic architecture of the city of Rotterdam in miniature, including the largest indoor miniature port of Europe. Let us surprise you!
The fourth dimension of our miniature world is formed by the stories we tell about the history of the Netherlands and in particular the city and port of Rotterdam. And recently the stories of Great Britain have been added.
Currently we are building a 190 m2 extension to our miniature world : Great Britain in miniature. This multi-year monster project is the largest expansion of Miniworld Rotterdam since the opening of Rotterdam in miniature in July 2009.

This layout features a miniature version of (the highlights of) the city of Rotterdam. Featuring the most famous and special buildings of Rotterdam. Such as the Erasmusbridge, the Euromast, Hotel New York, the new Rotterdam Central Station and City Hall. With over 50 modern and historic models from Rotterdam..
Inspired by the Port of Rotterdam, one of the largest ports in world, we have built the largest port in miniature of Europe! Almost all types of terminals that are to be found in the Port of Rotterdam are built to scale in our miniature Port.
The CHIO Equestrian Park, including the Kralingse Bos and the Snuff Mills De Ster and De Lelie on the Kralingse Plas. This part is named after the late Mr. Jacques Schoufour, who, in addition to a passion for the port of Rotterdam and equestrian sports, also had a passion for miniature trains.
The suburbs of Rotterdam, like for instance Schiedam, Vlaardingen, Capelle aan de IJssel, Hoogvliet en Spijkenisse all have been an inspiration for this extraordinarily busy bit of the miniature world.

Miniworld Rotterdam is located 350 meters from Rotterdam Central Station, near the Groot Handelsgebouw. This makes us easily accessible, both by public transport and by car. Parking is available in parking garage P2 of the Groot Handelsgebouw, directly underneath the attraction.

Groundplan Miniature World
Hundreds of British sources of inspiration underlie this multi-year monster project. It is 190 m² the largest expansion of Miniworld since 2009 and the first major foreign theme of the miniature world.
In September 2014 we started an expansion of over 190 m 2 : Great Britain, based on hundreds of sources of inspiration from England, Wales and Scotland. It's our largest expansion of the miniature world since 2009, adding a new mountainous country theme to our experience.
Britain in miniature is full of stories and historical themes. White cliffs of Dover, rolling hills, spectacular Scottish Highlands, varied coastlines, Celtic legends, impressive rock formations, prehistoric stone circles and villages, industrial revolution, castles, locks and much more.
The rich railway history of Great Britain is visualized with many spectacular (historic) viaducts, bridges and (museum) railway lines. The first working steam locomotive and the first railway were invented in England. With the invention of the steam engine, the industrial revolution was started and supported by the railway.
We have been working on completing the Great Britain theme for years now. We have had to deal with delays and exceptional circumstances. Just think about COVID, but also others. We continue to build steadily. You are very welcome in the construction site to see the work in progress.
To create something truly unique, we hardly use existing model kits. Pretty much all models are custom made. Very special is the behind-the-scenes tour of Great Britain, where you can admire the complex wooden frame and the advanced digital control technology.
We build with a small team and limited resources. In addition, we regularly build commercial projects for our business customers. We must prioritize these. We can't wait until it's ready!
