Trains, ships and 27,000 tiny residents: Miniworld Rotterdam is the largest covered miniature world of the Benelux, 650 m² built to a scale of 1:87. You find it at Weena 745, a 350-metre walk from Rotterdam Centraal. Night falls every 24 minutes.

On your way in you pass the coastal village of Marendam with its lighthouse. Further on are the marshalling yard, Rotterdam Centraal, the Groothandelsgebouw, the cube houses and the Calandbrug.

In the suburbs a harbour railway, a metro line and the high-speed line run. Just like the real world, the miniature world is always on the move: trains, lorries and ships.

Night every 24 minutes

In a series of evening and morning colours, thousands of lights illuminate the landscape, with hundreds of lit model buildings. When day breaks, the more than 27,000 residents wake up and everything starts moving again.

Great Britain and its railway history

At over 190 m², Great Britain is the largest extension of Miniworld since 2009: England, Wales and Scotland with chalk cliffs, the Highlands, Stonehenge, castles and the rich British railway history.

This section is still under construction but can be visited as usual. The test trains are not running at the moment.

Behind the scenes of the model railway

On the behind-the-scenes tour (€ 7.00, 45 minutes, from age 5) you visit the traffic control room and the model workshop, among other things. Booking online gives € 1 off.

Good to know

  • Address: Weena 745, 3013 AL Rotterdam, a 350-metre walk from Rotterdam Centraal station.
  • Wednesday to Friday from 12:00 to 17:00, Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00 and Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00; closed Monday and Tuesday. Different hours apply in the school holidays: see the hours for every day under Your visit.
  • Entry: children aged 3 to 11 € 10.80, adults € 14.90, children up to 2 free. Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) € 46.80.
  • Tickets online at tickets.miniworldrotterdam.com. The Dutch Museumkaart is not valid.
  • Allow at least an hour and a half.
  • No thresholds, a lift to the lower floor and an accessible toilet next to the restaurant.
  • Parking directly below the attraction in car park P2 of the Groot Handelsgebouw.
  • Open at the Weena until Sunday 3 January 2027. Closed from 4 January to 29 March 2027 for the move to ZUIDYARD, Doklaan 40 in Rotterdam-Zuid.
