Your privacy at Miniworld Rotterdam

A clear explanation of the data we use, why, and what your rights are.

Privacy policyCookiesTerms and conditions

Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. Who are we?

Miniworld Rotterdam (Modelspoorland B.V., KvK 27274841) is responsible for processing personal data as described in this privacy policy. Miniworld Rotterdam is part of ZUIDYARD on the Doklaan in Rotterdam.

If you sign up for the newsletter, you receive the ZUIDYARD visitor newsletter. It is sent by Beelen Eye B.V. (Chamber of Commerce 42161663), Doklaan 40, 3081 AD Rotterdam, which is responsible for the newsletter data.

Weena 745, 3013 AL Rotterdam · Email: info@miniworldrotterdam.com · Phone: 010 240 05 01

2. What data do we process?

We only process data you give us yourself or that is needed to run this website:

  • your email address, the page you signed up on and when you confirmed, if you subscribe to the newsletter;
  • your name, email address and the content of your message, if you email us;
  • technical data needed to show the website, such as your IP address and browser type.

3. What do we use your data for?

We use your data to send you the newsletter, answer your questions and keep the website working safely. We do not use it for other purposes without your consent.

With your consent we also measure how the website is used and how our advertising performs; see Cookies below.

From the email service we only receive totals per newsletter: how many emails were delivered, not delivered or reported as spam. We do this because of our legitimate interest in reliable delivery; addresses that no longer exist or report spam are not emailed again.

We do not measure opens and use no tracking pixel in the newsletter. We only count how often a link in the newsletter was clicked in total; the link is the same for every reader, so we cannot see who clicked. From the email service we only receive totals per newsletter (delivered, not delivered, reported as spam). The email service automatically stops mailing addresses that no longer exist.

We process data based on your consent (newsletter) or because of our legitimate interest in a secure website and in answering your questions.

Your consent is the basis for statistics and marketing cookies. You can withdraw it at any time.

4. Who do we share data with?

We never sell your data. We only share it with parties that help us provide these services, and only as far as needed:

  • Netlify, our hosting provider, which serves the website and stores newsletter sign-ups. Netlify is a US company; transfers to the United States rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses;
  • Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.), which sends the confirmation email and the newsletter and receives your email address for that. Resend stores data in the United States, covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses;
  • Google Ireland Limited – Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager): statistics on how the website is used, only after your consent to statistics;
  • Google Ireland Limited – Google Ads (via Google Tag Manager): measuring advertising on Google; cookies and advertising data only after your consent to marketing;
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Limited – Meta Pixel: measuring and improving advertising on Facebook and Instagram, only after your consent to marketing;
  • Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited – Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and recordings of how visitors use the website (what you type is masked), only after your consent to statistics;
  • TikTok Technology Limited – TikTok Pixel: measuring and improving advertising on TikTok, only after your consent to marketing;

5. How long do we keep data?

We keep data no longer than needed for the purpose we received it for, unless the law requires longer. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Your email address stays on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe. After that we only keep it on a suppression list, so we do not email you again. We keep proof of your sign-up (when, where and with which text) for up to five years after the last newsletter we sent you, because we must be able to show that you gave consent.

6. Cookies

Necessary storage in your browser keeps your cookie choice. We only use other cookies and trackers if you allow them in the cookie notice.

Statistics: Google Analytics measures which pages are visited. It only loads after you give consent.

Statistics: Microsoft Clarity makes heatmaps and recordings of how visitors click, scroll and move through the pages, so we can see where the website is unclear. What you type into forms is masked and not recorded. Clarity only loads after you consent to statistics. If you also consent to marketing, Microsoft may also use this data for advertising; without that consent it may not.

Marketing: with the Google Ads and Meta and TikTok pixels we measure how our advertising performs. They load only after you give consent.

For collecting and passing on data through the Meta and TikTok pixels, we are jointly responsible with Meta and TikTok (joint controllers, Art. 26 GDPR). What they then do with that data falls under their own privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy and tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy-eea. You can contact us as well as them with questions or requests about this data.

Google, Microsoft, Meta and TikTok may also process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States and (for TikTok) other countries, including China. The EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses apply to this.

Which cookies and for how long: zy_consent (your choice, 180 days); Google Analytics _ga and _ga_… (up to 2 years); Microsoft Clarity _clck (1 year) and _clsk (1 day) on our website, and on Microsoft domains (clarity.ms) CLID (1 year), ANONCHK (10 minutes), MR (7 days), SM (session) and, only with consent to marketing, MUID (1 year); Google Ads _gcl_… (90 days); Meta _fbp and _fbc (90 days); TikTok _ttp, _tt_enable_cookie and ttcsid… (up to 13 months). If you withdraw your consent, we remove these cookies from our website.

If you arrive through an ad or campaign link, we pass the campaign details from that link (such as utm_source) on to the ticket shop, so we can see which campaign leads to an order. Ad click IDs (such as gclid or fbclid) are only passed on with your consent to marketing.

We also keep your choice in the cookie zy_consent on miniworldrotterdam.com, so the ticket shop uses the same choice.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via Cookies at the bottom of every page. Sites we link to, such as the ticket shop or social media, use their own cookies under their own policy.

The typefaces are served from our own website; your browser does not connect to Google Fonts for them.

If you sign up for the newsletter, your browser passes your email address to our sign-up service (intern.zuidyard.com). No cookies are set for this.

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access. The website always uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, restrict processing, object, receive your data in a portable form, and withdraw your consent. Email us at info@miniworldrotterdam.com to do so.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

9. Changes

We may update this privacy policy when our website, services or the law change. The latest version is always on this page.
